School News/Reminders

Thank you: “Imagine…Dream…Believe” was a huge success.  The children were outstanding!  A heart warming Thanks to Ms. Jane Shivick for her dedication to our Musical.  Thank you also to Mrs. Hagearty, Mr. Leslie, Mrs. Mulford, the teachers for their dedication and “Extra Hours” and the parents for volunteering to sew costumes, operate lights, sound, snack bar and flowers.  Our efforts paid off.  The children’s talents were “showcased”.  Many of us are still humming the finale!  Everyone’s effort generated about $31,000 before expenses.

 

Thank You: Thanks to Miss Giuliani, Mr. Rick Stock and the many volunteers for their time and effort for another successful Book Fair.  We appreciate all you do for our school.

 

Congratulations to Leah Joinville (Grade 1) winner of our Scholastic Book Fair family Raffle.  Leah won $25.00 to be spent at the Fair.  Mrs. Maloney also won $25.00 to purchase books for her class.

 

Important Notice for Worcester Residents Only: The Worcester Public Schools Transportation Department has issued an application for buses for the 2012-2013 school year.  Every child living in Worcester who will be riding the bus to or from school must complete the enclosed application.  Please note the Transportation Department will not create bus stops in the fall unless your application is on file.  This application is per child not per family.  Please complete the application and return to school as soon as possible.

*Children in Pre-K entering SPCC in the fall for Kindergarten and plan on riding the bus must complete this application.

Hot Dog Day:  Thursday, May 24 is our last Hot Dog Day!  Volunteers are needed!  Please call the office if you are able to help. 

 

All Emergency and School Information cards are due in the office now.

 

SAVE THE DATE:  It’s still not too late to join us for some fun and a round of golf.  The Golf Tournament will be held on Saturday, June 9 at Heritage CC.   Start time 7:30am.  Singles are welcome!    Any questions please call the office

 

 

Note from the Nurse:  Attention Parents in Grades 5-8.  Permission slips for Postural Screening will are due in the office now.  Postural Screening will be held on Tuesday, May 22 and Wednesday, May 23 for Grades 5-8.

Open House for Families Interested in Enrollment:  St. Peter Central Catholic will host an OPEN HOUSE for interested families.  We still have some openings in Grades Pre-K- Grade 7.  If you know of any family who is interested in SPCC, please send their name and address to the office and we will send them an invitation.  The Open House will be held on Tuesday, June 5 from 5:30-7:30pm.

 

Closing ceremony for Grade 8:  All students will walk to St. Peter’s Church from school to attend Mass for our Grade 8 Closing Ceremony.  Students must be in FULL uniform (sweaters must be worn even with polo shirt).  If this is your child’s gym day please have your child wear their uniform NOT their gym uniform.

 

Last call for Manzello Photography:  Friday, May 25 will the last day to order Spring Musical Class Photo’s

 

Sports Banquet: You are invited to join us to celebrate our Student Athletes on Monday, June 4 from 6:00-8:00pm in the Gym.  Tickets are available at $12.00 per person (dinner included).  Tickets will go on sale Monday, May 21 through Friday, May 25.  See Mr. Coonan for tickets.  Reminder, tickets will not be sold at the door.

 

Attention please:  A reminder that no dogs are allowed in the school yard at arrival, dismissal or any other time.  We realize your dog maybe leashed however it is not a safe situation for the children or your pet.  Thank you for your cooperation with this matter.
