CATHOLIC SCHOOLS' WEEK 2012

                                   

January 29 - February 4

 

Dear St. Peter’s Families,

Sunday, January 29th begins Catholic Schools' Week. We will be celebrating this week beginning with a Community Mass and breakfast on Sunday and continuing throughout the week with different planned activities, as listed below.

               

Sunday (Jan. 29):   Mass will be celebrated. at 10:00AM in the O’Neil Auditorium. Following Mass, breakfast will be served.  Tickets are $9.00 per adult, children 12 and under $5.00 and Children 2 and under eat free.  These tickets are available in the office. Tickets for the breakfast will not be sold at the door.

 

Monday (Jan.30):  Community Reading Day:  Readers from the Community will come to classrooms to share a story.  Teachers will contact their readers. 

 

Tuesday (Jan. 31):  Food Drive For St. Peter’s Food Pantry: Soup & New Socks to be shared with the Mustard Seed and St. Peter’s Church Food Pantry. All families who donate soup and socks will be able to come to school dressed down on Friday.  The children will be dressed down in RED & WHITE (our school colors). Soup and socks will be collected all week.

Share a Lunch Day: Classes will be paired up to share a snack, and play games together during lunch period.

                        Performance by Holy Name Jazz Band

 

Wednesday (Feb. 1):  Pastor’s Luncheon: Pastors representing 72 different churches have been invited to our school to share a lunch with the children from their parish. Your child should bring his/her own lunch.  Not all Pastors are able to attend, however, due to their schedules.

 

Thursday (Feb. 2):  Student Appreciation Day: The children will receive an ice cream party sponsored by the Parents’ Association.  Volunteers are still needed. Today the children are allowed to wear sweats shirts and sweat pants.  The children do not have to wear their gym uniform.

  

Friday (Feb. 3):  Spirit Day: All families who donated Soup and Socks will be able to come to school dressed down.  The children will be dressed down in RED & WHITE. We will have a school wide rally in the gym in the afternoon.

Saturday (Feb. 4):  Winter Carnival: A fun night for the whole family will be held in the Gym on Saturday, February 4. International Foot Court, Games and fun. Hope to see you there!  More information to follow.
